Understanding China's culture

Culture is the ideas, customs, and social behaviour of a particular people or society. Culture includes what languages they speak, how and what they eat, the festivals they celebrate and more. For example, China believes in Chinese Zodiac. Chinese Zodiac is used in marriage, accessories, Spring Festival, Kong Fu and more. Chinese Zodiac compatibility can influence the future of a Chinese's person in a positive and negative way. The Chinese Zodiac compatibility was used since ancient times and now is sometimes used to determine if a pair is suitable in romantic, work, or any relationship. In China, it is more likely for a parent to agree to a marriage with suitable Chinese Zodiac compatibility than none. This shows that the parents now respects the past of their history and not try to change it. Another example is that the Chinese culture places heavy emphasis on filial piety as healthy families lead to a healthy society. It is common to find local associations formed by members from the same village in China as you consider the people from the same village as your extended family. These local associations perform social functions and provide protection for their members. These associations play a key role in community building efforts and are formed because of the importance of family.
